Can I just say one of the best things about where my parents live are the beaches?
We spent many mornings at several public beaches because they are a two-fer!
Beach AND Park!
Here we are in Northport...this playscape made me slightly nervous because John scales playscapes like a mountain goat...and if you even THINK about trying to keep him from doing so, he will publicly shame you in front of anyone and everyone by kicking, screaming, flailing, you name it...
We did our best to keep John off of these...
And this...
And this...
We let Johnny give this a try, and of course after going down a few times, he tried to walk UP the slide, which resulted in scared mommy interference and a decent tantrum.
They BOTH actually enjoyed these thingamabobs...
And then there was the balance beam.
Ladies and gentlemen, if you ever want to see an 18 month old swat grown up hands away ninja style in an effort to communicate that he does NOT need your help doing something like this...you should take a trip with us to a park.
After the park fun was over, the kiddos headed to the beach where they dug holes, made sand castles, and....
Ate fabulous salty snacks (don't judge - it's vaca and cheez-its travel very well :) )
The cool thing about this public beach and a few more you will see in some upcoming posts is how shallow the water is...you can literally walk out 200 yards and still not be over your head. This made for tons of fun...
Everyone thought it was fun to bury me in some sand...
But revenge is best! I immediately ordered Billy to bury Will...
And bury him he did!
Then Billy actually buried Will in a hole standing UP! And them built him fake legs of of sand haha...
In case you haven't noticed...each day was chocked full of activities and it never slowed down...stay tuned!
