Bugs Beware!

This guy is armed and dangerous!

He will take his anteater bug catcher...

And with the help of his trusty (and sometimes homeless looking) sidekick...

He will suck you up out of your homes and deposit you in his terrarium for observation!

You can try to crawl away, but you can't hide!

Stocking Stuffers

Thank you Houston Museum of Natural Science for fabulous stocking stuffer ideas!  Dinosaur hand puppet tattoos!  Will loves them!  And thank you Nana Julie and Papa Dave for our membership :)

Christmas Recap

Another Christmas has come and gone!

This year we had an extra special new little one to celebrate with...

John got to make his very first Christmas pottery to go along with Will's...

Christmas morning started out with stockings...Will was thrilled to have a candy cane full of his favorite candy (skittles)...

And John pretty much could have cared less!

Will got some pretty neat presents, compliments of Santa (or Houston Museum of Natural Science)...

At one point John sneaked away with Will's astronaut ice cream...

And Will's new Incredible Hulk (Will managed to keep ahold of Loki though as you can see - Will is slightly obsessed with him right now!)...

And then of course we pulled the whole, Christmas Story idea of "well, looks like we are all out of presents, but Will, you didn't get what you really wanted!?!?!"  Will was devastated until he realized there was one more present tucked way behind the tree (and no, it wasn't a Red Rider BB Gun!)...His National Geographic Anteater Bug Catcher Kit, complete with magnifying glass and a terrarium haha!  This thing is actually like a little hand held dirt devil vacuum cleaner that sucks up bugs and then you dump them into the terrarium for observation!

He wanted this SOOOO bad!  And yes, we've already used it...pictures coming soon.

John really wasn't that interested in Christmas this year...he just kept running around stealing all of Will's new toys and tossing his own toys to the side!  I'm sure next year will be different!

Hope you all had a merry, blessed Christmas!

Twas the Night Before Christmas...

When all through the house, all you could hear was Johnny B crying!

So our night went a little like this...

It started out all fun and games...we hung the stockings, prepared a plate of cookies and milk for Santa, and left a candy cane for the reindeer (a little extra credit :))...

T.H.E.N.

Johnny B moved in...

First, John went in for the candy cane...Knowing candy canes are not suitable for babies, Will promptly intercepted it, informing him it was not a good idea to try to eat it as it was 'still wrapped in plastic' and 'hard'...

This upset John greatly, yet Will felt as if he had done a good deed...after all...he rescued his brother from a candy cane :)

But that little scuffle didn't deter John for one minute...he immediately went in for the kill...Santa's cookies...

Will tried to take the cookie away but before we knew it, John had eaten a whole cookie off the plate!  (Don't let his innocent looks fool you...he is nothing more than a Santa cookie nabber!)

Finally, Billy and I had to inform John that the cookies and milk were meant for Santa...news he did not take lightly...

Here's to a very interesting Christmas Eve...hope everyone gets a good nights sleep!

First Christmas

Somebody is about to experience their first Christmas....

While I am super excited I am also slightly perplexed on how to handle one small detail for the day's festivities.

Where can I find a "Baby's 1st Christmas" tee shirt in size TWO T?
Ahhh, my chubby little elf :)

Just in the "Nick" of Time

I did it...finally...I completed Johnny B's stocking in the Saint Nick of time!  Now I can relax!  A B.I.G. thanks to Billy for being patient (washing bottles and dishes every night) with me while I worked on this!

Here's all four of our stockings, just waiting to be stuffed!!

Birthday Date Night

So last Friday was my 33rd birthday...and I was lucky enough to have a date night with this guy...

We started off at The Hard Rock Cafe downtown and ended up at Peter Pan the musical...
It was fabulous!  Will really enjoyed it...I mean, what's not to love?

People were flying all around the stage...
There was a giant crocodile...
Captain Hook was up to no good...
The Lost Boys were acting silly...
There was fabulous music...
And of course, there was Nana, the Old English Sheepdog who watched over Wendy, John, and Michael in their nursery.

By the time we got home, it was almost 11pm (gasp!)...some how, some way, Billy peeled a sleeping Will out of his car seat, changed him into his pajamas, and put him to bed without him even waking up!

Will loved it so much!  He even selected the book Peter Pan today in the library at school :)

Family Photos

By now you've all received our Christmas cards...well, here are some extra shots from our photo shoot this fall.  Side note...it was at least 452 degrees in Houston on the day we took these...trust me, while we were smiling for the camera, we were sweating profusely under our wool sweaters!

I think, in the end, it was worth it!

ps...Mom, this post is officially for you :) all you have to do is drag and drop the photos to your iphoto :)

Christmas In Snowflake County!

Last week Will had his very first Christmas musical..."The Secret of Snowflake County".
It was a fabulous musical that reminded everyone in the audience what Christmas is truly all about.

Every year (myself included), we get all wrapped up (pun intended) with the commercial aspects of celebrating Christmas.  But this little play performed by a bunch of elementary students gave me pause about the true meaning of Christmas.

It isn't about presents, it isn't about parties, it isn't about fancy Christmas cards, it isn't about decorations, it isn't about coordinating family outfits for Christmas Mass etc...

It is about the birth of of Baby Jesus.

Here is our little snowflake (complete with the oversized standard school play shirt)

Here's Will with one of his friends, William (by the way, his mom's name is Carolyn)

And here he is in action (dad, don't worry, this is the first and last time Will will wave pom poms ;))

And for the grandparents who couldn't be there...a very short snippet.
Great performance Will!

Letters To Santa

Last week, Will wrote out his wish list to Santa...his top three gifts that he wants most.
We "mailed" it to the North Pole and sure hope Santa gets it in time!

In all seriousness though, I think Will has already wised up to the myth...asking all sorts of questions about Rudolph, why there are multiple Santas around town etc!  I fear the gig may be up!

Spider-Claus-Man

Yes, that's right, Spider-Claus-Man.
That's what you get when you cross Spiderman, with a Santa Claus hat, and a Batman cape.

Little imaginations are at work this season!
