Move Over Big Papi...

We've got a new batter in town!

So he's a bit smaller...
And uses the bat backwards...

But he is a lefty...
And he's a bit hefty :)

And YES, that is a Buc-ee Beaver Ball

And he has QUITE the attitude!

I Give You.....

The curlet - 1st cousin of the infamous mullet!

This is what you get when you mix John with heat and humidity :)
I L.O.V.E. it.

To counter this wild mane...apparently, unbeknownst to me, this is the John's morning routine with his daddy...

Slick ricking the hair all the way back...

Into a neat and tidy mullet.

Business in the front...party in the back!!

Congratulations Will!

To quote the fabulous Alice Cooper..."Schoooools out for SUMMER!"

To quote me..."That's all fine and good, but now we need to get to work! We have summer school!"

Yes, Will brought home SUMMER SCHOOL workbooks and readers!  The good thing is, he's reading already so that's no problem...but seriously, workbooks?  Math?  Argh!

Anywho...Friday was a huge day...Will graduated from PreK!!!

To commemorate this most awesome moment, his school held a play day complete with a water slide, bubble station, snow cones, and more.  (FYI---Will is the little guy in the green batman swim shirt)

All that morning fun was followed by lunch with Billy at Will's favorite spot, Panera where he apparently scarfed down some mac n cheese before taking a two hour nap.

When I got home from work the four of us convened over some Double Dave's Pizza followed by some ice cream :)

What a GREAT day for Will...we are so proud of you kiddo!

Next stop....KINDERGARTEN!!!

Hee Hee Hee

Sometimes I just can't resist
...letting my kids stand on couches, jump off of couches, and pull their pjs up way too high :)

Ask Them What They Wish For

So, you know how kids make wishes...

Like, when blowing out the candles on their birthday cakes...
Like, when they see a shooting star...
Like, when they lose an eyelash and you snag it off their cheek before it gets in their eye and they blow it out of your fingers...

Well...next time, just do it...ask them what they wished for...

The other day, Will lost one of his eyelashes...I fetched it off his cheek just below his lower eyelid in the nick of time.  Holding it between my thumb and forefinger I said, ok, make a wish.  He blew it out of my grasp and then we had this little conversation.

Will: "Mommy, don't you want to know what I wished for?"
Me: "No Will, then it won't come true!"
Will: "But I really want to tell you!"
Me: "Fine, I'll keep it a secret"
Will: "I wish I could see a REAL dinosaur."
Me (eyes welling...):  "Awe babe, I wish we could do that, but we can't" (huge frowny face)

Now that's a tough one for a mommy...because I can't quite get that at Target...or go back in time 228 million years or so...so I'll have to come up with something else...

I'm working on something BIG, but in the meantime, I made his lunch napkins dino themed for the rest of the week :)

Doctors Doctors Doctors

We've had just about enough of hospitals and doctor's visits.......

Without too many details - Will went to Urgent Care two times and had three additional doctor's appointments in one week about a month ago followed by some scary tests and a procedure.

Here was our little trooper not too long ago...

That same week, this happened - some type of weird allergic reaction causing this!
A HUGE EAR!

And then yesterday, I picked Will up from school and he was clutching his right arm...saying he fell on it and it hurt and he couldn't move it, and didn't think we could go to t-ball...
Five x-rays and one giant co-pay later...we were in the clear...WHEW!

And now today......John has pink eye!

Maybe we will catch a break next week :)

Camp Heart & Soul

Last week Will's school had their Lower School Spring Musical - Camp Heart & Soul!

Nana Rosie and Papa Max were in attendance...

As was Will's biggest fan...Johnny B (who by the way, I must give mucho props...he sat in Billy's arms the ENTIRE time and didn't make a peep!  He must have been mesmerized by all the music and lights!)

It was a fabulous display of children ages Pre-K through 5th Grade singing about being children of God with an underlying theme about "what really matters" that I'm sure really got the parents thinking.

Being in PreK, Will's class didn't have a HUGE part, but they did spend a few minutes center stage!

Here are some more pictures of what was going on on the sidestage :)

And here are two of Will's besties...Cade...

And Christian...who also plays t-ball with Will.

Because I have a very difficult time saying "no" to these beautiful blues...

And I embrace each and every single messy moment :)
