Midday at the Museum

So...
What do you do when it is 100 degrees and disgustingly hot and humid in Houston?
Hit a museum!

Saturday we loaded the boys up and headed down to the Museum of Natural Science for some exciting activities...here are a FEW pictures :)

John was less than pleased in the Paleo Hall - refusing to get out of his stroller to face the giants head on...but that didn't stop me from taking some photos on my iPhone (yes - mortal sin - I forgot my camera!)

Will channeling his inner Suchomimus...

Will and Daddy channeling their inner Deinonychus...

John channeling his inner Giant Sloth LOL!

Look closely...you will see a Mastadon and a human "falling off a cliff"...Will and Billy tried to reenact it...not bad!

The last part of the Paleo Hall discusses evolution...where apparently John felt much more comfortable so he finally got out of his stroller and started up his antics...

Which were apparently contagious haha...

After that nonsense, Billy and Will headed to an Imax show about the ice age while John and I headed upstairs to get a closer look at some mammals...

After a quick picnic lunch we headed to the Entomology wing (pun totally intended) and Cockrell Butterfly Exhibit...awesome!

Not sure if you can see them...but there are giant walking sticks behind them...

Giant everything...cockroaches, millipedes, centipedes, katydids, etc!

Oh how I wish I had my CAMERA...even iPhoto can't help this red eye...but seriously...Will actually tried to crawl inside the Roach Dome?!  Haha!

Following the entomology exhibit, we hit the butterfly house and had a ton of fun checking out all sorts of species...

Then it was time to head home...and nap...apparently :)
