It has begun!

Will is starting school this fall (Pre-K4).  That's right, REAL school.  August to May with nothing but fun, vacations and summer camps in between school years!
We are super excited for this and decided we would start the summer camp experience this summer!

We found an excellent program at a nearby private school..."Calling All Time-Travelers!".  It is the perfect fit for our little guy...it is all about DINOSAURS!

Unfortunately I have been/am on business travel for the entire two weeks Will is going to be in this camp (I really need to start playing/win the lottery!).  He started this past Monday and Billy captured this adorable picture of my little time-traveler en route to camp.

Isn't he cute!  He looks so grown up...

And little Johnny B. got in on the photos as well...sporting his very own dino tee...

I am extremely home sick, missing my three guys...so these pictures are definitely helping me get through the weekend better!  Miss you all!!  Love you all!!!!

Okay, so he won't eat just anything...

We, admittedly, had high hopes for Johnny B. in the eating department.  He is quite the little piglet.  Early this week (while I was out of town) Billy tried to feed John peas (this may or may not have been by design so I wouldn't be around ;)).  Well, let's just say, John wasn't exactly thrilled with the taste.  According to Billy, he started off okay, but quickly graduated to the gag reflex.

Guess he and Will have something in common after all!

They're Baaack!

The Dinosaurs are back at the Houston Zoo!
Will & I played hooky today and took the day off of work and school to hit the exhibit.

We went there very first thing upon arrival....And it didn't disappoint!

Immediately following, we went to the movies...4D Dinosaur Movie that is!
It was awesome!  There was wind, water, ice, vibrating chairs, bugs, bubbles, you name it!
It was COOL!

Then we were off to the petting zoo...

After lunch, and after acquiring our blue Gatorade mustache, it was time for the reptiles/amphibians...

And lastly we tunneled through the Piranhas!

It was a ton of fun...but VERY VERY hot...Will was even fine with skipping the carousel AND train ride just to get back to the car to get into some air conditioning!

Will's T-Ball Highlight Reel

Well, last Saturday marked the end of our first T-Ball season...Will had an absolute blast!  He was such a good hitter and fielder...he excelled mostly at first base and pitcher...and was definitely the fastest runner around the bases :)  Below is the highlight reel...only two songs long, the first of which is "Well Well Well"...(FYI - I am aware this is not a baseball-ish song, but Will thinks Duffy is singing "Will Will Will", and he loves it, so I had to include it...
Enjoy!

And here is Will's biggest fan club...Dad and John (although John was definitely not interested in this particular game ;))

BYCTWD

Friday was BYCTWD - also known as Bring Your Child To Work Day at the fine establishment I work...I took Will again this year and he had a blast again!
We did all kinds of cool things...

First I booked him...

Then we saw a cool vehicle used by very brave people...

Then there was the puppet show, and The Flash made an appearance again!!

Next we tried on some cool 'clothes' that weigh more than Will!

And "scoped" out a few weapons...

Soon it was time for finger printing...

And some very important phone calls...

Phone calls from a really cool bus that is!

And lastly, it was time to shoot...Will actually did really well!

In fact, I think he might have had too much fun during this demonstration...

He hit the target and even the bulls eye...

And on the way home...he passed out.
Funny, this is pretty much what a day at work does to me at the end of the day :)

Will the Artist

I just had to document this...the other day, Will (I'm sure feeling inspired by our recent trip to the museum) decided to draw several T-Rexes...Here is one of them.  I don't know about you, but this is the most darling T-Rex I have ever seen :)  Maybe one day, when he's all grown up, he actually will be a paleontologist...and he can look back at this and chuckle.

Elephant Toothpaste

A few weeks back, a friend of mine who knows I am mother to a mad scientist, suggested we try making elephant toothpaste...so of course...we did!  It was a really neat experiment...if I ever find myself needing to go to a beauty supply store (like never!), I will pick up 6% hydrogen peroxide for better results....(It works best if you have 6% hydrogen peroxide - we of course only had grocery grade 3%)

Step 1:  Gather Ingredients

Step 2: Mix them all together, sit back and watch!

Step 4: Begin to be amazed!

Step 5: Impatiently speed the experiment along...

And Step 6: Take matters into your own hands!

John at FIVE Months Old

Today John is officially FIVE MONTHS OLD!!!!

He wears size 3 diapers...
He is wearing size 18 month tee shirts...
He is wearing size 12 month footed pajamas which we may have to discontinue already due to the size of his arms/thighs (and it is so funny to look at a five month old with 'gripper' feet on his pajamas --- as if he could walk...ha!)...
According to the doctor, he is roughly 18 1/2 pounds (he had to make a visit today due to the onset of some sniffles)...
He doesn't sit (or should I say fit) comfortably in the bumbo anymore, so he's already in a high chair...and LOVES food...
He can sit on his own, for a bit...
He is super grabby...reaches out for anything and everything and then tries to chew it...
He is really in love with Will...I mean, in LOVE...

Here's my blue eyed babe...

And here are a few photos of him that I thought were funny....they were taken this evening when I was trying to get the 'perfect smile' shot for his 5 month photo...this is the effect I have on him...

I started by making funny noises...
His reaction: confusion...

I started talking to him in a high pitched voice...
His reaction:  delight...

I then made funny motions with my hands...
His reaction:  attack of the giggles!

Realizing it had been a few seconds of him being unable to catch his breath, I let up on my antics...
His reaction: anticipation for what was yet to come...

Then I made the move for the final picture op...
His reaction: complete hysterics!

And finally, the monthly comparison...

Pudgy John....

And Pudgy Papa Dave...(circa 1952)
