Day 2 was perfect. We had NO plans (can you believe it?) in the morning. So we just dressed up in some layers for a snowball fight and snow fun right outside the back door of our condo.
HOW CUTE ARE THESE TWO. I can hardly handle how adorbs they are in all their silly gear.
Especially John...guys...he was wearing old school bibs! So cute. And check out that zipper ha!
So this was our backyard all week. You can see some of Keystone in the background. And this photo was the beginning of our fun morning!
We immediately got busy with some snow activities...
And discovered when you have a base of over 60 inches - you can build bunkers to hunker down in!
I, of course (mom of the year) introduced John to the fine dining of snow...it seriously is delicious :)
And Will's baseball skills paid off with some snowball fights with Billy...I love this photo!
John checked out some wildlife (I think it was a red tailed hawk, mom!)...
And we just carried on all morning long (don't let this photo fool you, trust me, there was plenty of fighting, screaming, crying etc too!)
Next we made some family snow angels - I love this picture of John - it reminds me of the younger brother in A Christmas Story who falls down in the snow on his back and can't get up because he is so over-dressed!
Here are the kiddo's snow angels - so sweet - so precious - I might have to have an enormous print of this one.
And here are Billy and I's snow angels - you are never too old to do this!
And for the record, mine is on the right - looks like I'm getting good motion with this pathetic shoulder!
John continued to eat, and eat, and eat until I'm pretty sure his face and chin were just about frostbitten...
And Will discovered a very interesting bunker...to hide in...
Complete with a bridge!
Will scared us to death by climbing up this large snow bank (you can barely see him to the right of the pine tree)...
And we snapped one more photo before heading in for lunch. We knew we had a "BIG" afternoon (pun intended - see below) so it was important to rest up!
After nap, we headed to the Adventure Center to check in for our sleigh ride. Dad - this photo is for you...I know you love the hockey stick action at the desk!
Because I am always early, wherever I go, almost to a fault, we had time to spare before the sleigh ride began, so checked out other cool cold weather things, like ice sickles...While the photo looks great - this turned out to be a really bad idea on my part as it resulted in quite a bit of fussing and fighting between the boys haha.
But before too long, we were on our way in the sleigh! It was COLD! It was SNOWING, like, white-out conditions! It was AWESOME!!!!
We got to ride in a sleigh pulled by two Belgian Draft Horses...
But the kiddos really liked the Percheron horses that pulled the other sleigh. Sidebar and fun fact for today: I had one of these growing up!
After a frigid, snowy walk/wagon ride back into the village...
We headed for some food...drink...
Fun photo ops...(thank you Billy for not protesting this one!)
And then prepared ourselves for....Will's BIGfoot Hunt!
Here he is posing with Flat Stanley as the lecture regarding Bigfoot was beginning....
More on THAT later!
