So we had some of our good friends come in town this weekend, Cheryl, Nick and Vaughn. Billy and Nick headed to College Station Saturday to look at some real estate while Cheryl, Will, Johnny, Vaughn and I headed to the Children's Museum downtown. (Sidebar - we were originally planning on going to the Museum of Natural Science so I didn't bother to bring my Nikon but it was closed, so unfortunately all I have are crummy I-Phone pics to share).
It was UNBELIEVABLE. This kids had a GREAT time!!! I cannot believe Will is almost 6 and this is the FIRST TIME we have been! (Well, it may be the last time - more on that later). Here are a few images of the kids carrying on and having an absolute ball:
Here they are playing around with what is essentially a giant bank drive through thingy (yes, thingy) that sucks up and deposits balls after ferrying them through hoops and loops and all sorts of crazy things high up on the ceiling...
Here is Will learning how much physical energy would have to be exerted to light a light bulb!
Next we checked out our reflections in some really cool mirrors (who is that dorky mom with a belly bag and super long left hand taking this picture?)...
Next we were off to learn about trajectory...with basically an Angry Birds setup including a catapult and building blocks on the other end...Will loved this exhibit!
And then...O.M.G. they put on lab coats (and I just about died) to go into the "laboratory"...
Here they are designing some molecules...
And learning about air flow...
And getting dizzy with illusions...
And building cool ramps for golf balls :)
They learned about different ways to balance differently shaped blocks...
And a vortex...
And then the showstopper - GAS buahahahahaaa! Yes, they learned about gas!
The museum had this little walkway thing that you walked across and if you landed, on let's say, a vegetable vs a carbohydrate, a, um, er, different sound would occur lol!
Finally it was time to head home and even though Cheryl and I were yapping up in the front seats, these two tired guys fell asleep, and Vaughn too!
So, referencing my comment about how we may never go back....
Immediately following our visit we ALL GOT SICK....SUPER SICK....not 24, 48, or even 72 hour bug sick....like...MEGA sick. So I'm wondering which of those hands on experiments above did us in???? Next time, we are hitting the Dinosaur Museum!
