Noteworthy Napkins

Will completed his first full week of Kindergarten last week...as such I completed my first full week of napkin creations to accompany our little guy in his lunch box.

Last weeks theme was Dinosaurs - obviously...
Here we have a Velociraptor, Deinonychus, Ceratosaurous, Coelophysis, and Spinosaurus

Billy has napkin duty this week...stay tuned!

Midday at the Museum

So...
What do you do when it is 100 degrees and disgustingly hot and humid in Houston?
Hit a museum!

Saturday we loaded the boys up and headed down to the Museum of Natural Science for some exciting activities...here are a FEW pictures :)

John was less than pleased in the Paleo Hall - refusing to get out of his stroller to face the giants head on...but that didn't stop me from taking some photos on my iPhone (yes - mortal sin - I forgot my camera!)

Will channeling his inner Suchomimus...

Will and Daddy channeling their inner Deinonychus...

John channeling his inner Giant Sloth LOL!

Look closely...you will see a Mastadon and a human "falling off a cliff"...Will and Billy tried to reenact it...not bad!

The last part of the Paleo Hall discusses evolution...where apparently John felt much more comfortable so he finally got out of his stroller and started up his antics...

Which were apparently contagious haha...

After that nonsense, Billy and Will headed to an Imax show about the ice age while John and I headed upstairs to get a closer look at some mammals...

After a quick picnic lunch we headed to the Entomology wing (pun totally intended) and Cockrell Butterfly Exhibit...awesome!

Not sure if you can see them...but there are giant walking sticks behind them...

Giant everything...cockroaches, millipedes, centipedes, katydids, etc!

Oh how I wish I had my CAMERA...even iPhoto can't help this red eye...but seriously...Will actually tried to crawl inside the Roach Dome?!  Haha!

Following the entomology exhibit, we hit the butterfly house and had a ton of fun checking out all sorts of species...

Then it was time to head home...and nap...apparently :)

Froggy Friday

We have a few traditions ... one of which has always been Friday pizza at Double Daves.  Recently we incorporated the fabulous Meyer family into this activity because the boys have so much fun together.  Steph - however - is about 12 months pregnant so we relocated the event to our house to provide a bit more comfort for her ever swelling feet and ankles.

After some pizza, we headed out to say our goodbyes and came upon this fabulous amphibian...

After much encouragement from Dylan - Will finally picked him up...I love it!

Football Fever

Billy is getting super excited about A&M football --- so last Saturday he and Will and Papa Max headed up to good old College Station for the annual scrimmage.

Will came home very disappointed that Johnny Football was NOT the biggest player on the field haha...and super amazed at how far the punters could kick the ball!

The season is upon us!
WHOOP!

Wet Weekend

Last weekend....WAIT FOR IT....it actually RAINED!  For a minute.  That brought out tons of frogs at the park (which Will of course caught) and our boots down from storage in the garage!

At the park there must have been a million baby frogs to catch...one of which John tried to squeeze to death, so we had to stop :)

Vacation Encore-Sailing Days

I forgot to post Will's sailing/fishing experience - conducted the final week of his "camp Michigan" visit (thanks for the reminder dad :) )...

Here is Will sailing with Nana Julie on Lake Leelanau...(very ming)
Just looking at these pictures makes me want to go BACK!

And rowing/fishing with Papa Dave...

I'm pretty sure this is the day they ran across the mud puppy (in case you've forgotten)...

Flock of Johnnys

As you know, John has some crAAAAAzy (read like Jason, Katy) hair.  Call it curly, call it a mullet, call it a mess, call it redneck...call it FLOCK OF JOHNNYS!

Yes, when Will and I picked him up from daycare today, the ladies were in a fit of giggles because apparently when he woke up from his nap, he had extreme hair issues!  I, of course, imediately thought of the 80's band Flock of Seagulls and commented as such, to which I was returned blank stares by the 20 year old employees hahaha!  Yes!  I'm old!

Here's a better looks from the top...

I really think John could rock this look if he really tried....

He's got the look, he's got the attitude... :)

New Boys' Rooms

So a bit ago, we moved...and my mom has seen the boys' rooms because she flew Will home from Michigan.  Dad - you haven't seen them yet, so this post is for you :)

Will's Room - Star Wars themed (obviously) to include a Yoda alarm clock...

John's Room - Americana themed red white and blue (I just love this!)

I wonder how much primer we're going to have to use the next time we want to paint over the blue in Will's or the red in John's!?!?

Somebody's THIRTEEN Today!

Happy Birthday Jude!
MUAH!

KINDERGARTEN!!!!!

Today Will started Kindergarten!!!
I cannot believe my biggest kiddo has grown up so quickly...it seems like just yesterday we were sending him off on his first day of PreK and now here he is in Kindergarten, where there is a real curriculum, tardies count, and homework is upon us!

The morning started off with pictures (of course)...check out Will at 5 versus 4 last year!
He looks SO grown up!

Again at 5...

And 4!  I just can't get over the difference!

He has a fabulous class of 13 other friends, led by this fabulous lady who had the pleasure of meeting me (aka Tiger Mom, aka Helicopter Mom, aka Momzilla) Monday night where I drilled her with questions, expectations, concerns and more.  Hopefully the PreK teachers warned her about me and I didn't scare her off!

Before I knew it they were beginning their activities and I was out the door with little more than a 'bye mom' :sigh:

Kindergarten.
Already.
Seriously.
