Birthday Celebration Part TWO

After Will's celebration at school on Monday, we had a little party for him at the house.
Special thanks to Rosie for decorating and surprising us with balloons, party hats and more!

First we had dinner, with Will's favorite foods.  The menu?
Mac n Cheese
Filet Mignon (yes, really, can you believe it?)
And Milk

John was thrilled...he eats steak too..LOTS of steak.

With their bellies full of yummy food, they began acting silly...

And when Nana Rosie and Papa Max came over, we settled down for a family photo before dessert!

Then it was time for presents (only one!)

I've never seen a 5 year old get this excited about ONE present...
Especially...
an...
antique!

Yes, that's right...we are (again) re-gifting Billy's childhood toys thanks to Rosie - who has kept them in mint condition over the past 30 years!  These Star Wars toys are incredible...and according to EBay - might be worth a bit of cash.  Best part about it - Will has no idea they aren't brand spankin new :)

Check out this little excited turkey as he opens up his present and discovers his "new" Millennium Flacon!

Happy 5th Birthday Will...we can't wait for Saturday's party!

Birthday Celebration Part ONE

So I just had to leave work early to bring mini cupcakes to Will's school on Monday for his Birthday....

Let's just say I was quite the hero when I showed up with a box of these fabulous, tasty treats.

Here's how it all went down!  What a feisty bunch!!

Cha-cha-cha!!

Happy 5th Birthday Will!!!!

Today is Will's FIFTH Birthday!

He had his 5 year checkup last Friday...here are the stats:
Height: 42" (32nd Percentile - awe...my little Peanut)
Weight: 34lbs 2 ozs (7th Percentile - way to go buddy, that's up from the 3rd percentile last year!)

He is reading, writing, and all that great stuff...

But the most amazing thing about our Will is his imagination.
He LOVES imaginary play, whether it's Super Friends, Avengers, Monster Trucks, Spider Man, or Star Wars.

He is so creative, making comic book "pages" nearly every night, copying scenes from his books and using stickers to make the scenes come to life.

He loves role playing (to include costumes and dramatic scenes ha!) - his favorite heroes are The Flash, Batman, and Spiderman.  His favorite villain is Darth Vader.

He is the greatest big brother in the WORLD...always patient, thoughtful, and giving.

He loves riding his bike, is becoming quite the swimmer, and is about to begin his second season of t-ball...

But
His
True
Love
Remains

DINOSAURS!

It's been 1 year...
Some things have changed...
But his dreams remain the same!

Happy Birthday Peanut!!!

Spring Break Part SIX (last one!)

Saturday we headed up to College Station to help celebrate Ms. Landry's first birthday (btw Katy, I didn't take a SINGLE picture while we were there...feel free to forward some :) )

Billy and Will cut out a bit early to check out an Aggie Baseball game at Blue Bell Park.
You know you are in God's Country (Aggieland) when the baseball park is sponsored by the best ice cream creamery in THE WORLD!

Pinch Me!

If you were to tell me (nearly) five years ago that on St. Patrick's Day, 2013, I would have two little leprechauns of my own...one wearing a clovered out Boston Celtics tee and the other wearing a mint green retro baseball tee (with legs like a MLB catcher), I would have thought you were crazy...

But I DO!  And I am crazy about them!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

I Know What You're Thinking...

While Will was having all that fun over Spring Break, what was Johnny Boomtastick up to?
The week prior to Spring Break he went to the doctor with a double ear infection...his second...in about a month.

By the start of Will's Spring Break he still wasn't 100%...you can see it in his eyes in this photo at the park :(  The kid's face literally gets swollen.  His sinuses back up into his EYES for Pete's Sakes!

He started feeling better over the weekend so we sent him back to school during Will's Spring Break, for several reasons...
1) His fever was gone
2) We pay almost a grand a month for daycare
3) We didn't want to overwhelm Nana Rosie with BOTH boys for a week!

By the start of the week he was feeling better, so we practiced Easter Egg hunting with some debris in the back yard...

Another day went by and he was feeling even better...here he is with Will, helping out while Will puts the finishing touches on his Dinosaur Easter Egg...

By the middle of the week, he was doing much better as he was back to his usual antics...ending up in weird places and then pretending like he has no idea how he got there...

And by Saturday he was A-OK...
We realized several things...
John loves chicken
John loves steak
And he officially has FOUR molars!  YIKES!  When did that happen???

Here's to a healthier Spring Break for Johnny B next year!

Spring Break Part FIVE

Toward the end of the week, Nana Rosie (who by the way, hung out with Will ALL WEEK LONG - THANKS!) drove Will down to the Houston Downtown Aquarium where they checked out some interesting sea life and then met Billy for lunch.

And of course checked out the white tigers...

Will had a fabulous time as he usually does with Nana Rosie, and here's the proof!

Thanks Rosie for taking care of our kiddo all week!

Spring Break Part FOUR

Toward the middle of the week, Will had his first sports camp...and of course...it was golf!
The country club held a little clinic for kiddos and Will was in attendance.

Billy and Nana Rosie headed out to the course early in the morning where he learned putting skills, stretching skills, swing skills and all other fundamentals of the wonderful game of golf.

I think he's starting to get the golfing fever too...he teed a REAL ball up tonight in the garage and pegged the front bumper on Billy's car pretty squarely!

Spring Break Part THREE

I can't think of a better way to spend spring break than a little baseball practice...

Will's teacher's husband is the high school coach at their school and hosted a little baseball fun on Monday!

Spring Break Part TWO

Sunday rolled around and it was a HUGE day for us...
Discover the Dinosaurs was being displayed at the George R Brown Convention Center...
so we
of course
HAD to go!

We all donned our best dino tees (or in Billy's case, Johnny Football T) and headed downtown...

Someone was slightly excited when we got there!

The exhibits were very very cool...awesome lighting and the dinosaurs moved!

Deinonychus

Spinosaurus

Dilophosaurus

T-Rex

Triceratops (John was not impressed)

And a dig sight (John WAS impressed)

And then it was time to actually RIDE DINOSAURS!!!

Giganotosaurus

And they MOVED!

T-Rex

Dilophosaurus

Triceratops

John was unimpressed with the idea of riding large fake reptiles so he chose to take a break and eat...

Next it was on to the miniature golf course...where Will actually made a hole in one shortly after this photo (John was still eating)

Next we hit a maze and ended up in a dinosaur play area for Johnny B
He absolutely fell in love with this purple Sauropod

And then the Pteranadon

It didn't take long for Will to get bored in the baby area so he began doing things that gave me hearburn...

Finally it was time to leave.
As we headed back to our car we found this great spot for a quick photo...
A photo which pretty much shows you the difference in our kids...
One likes to pose nicely and follow direction...
One likes to try to climb walls and ignore us!
(Thanks Billy for editing it!)

And finally...the best 'sign of the times' (pun INTENDED)
Apparently the convention center was also hosting another little event...

GOD BLESS TEXAS!!!!
