Will's room has come a long way from the days of 'baby' and the most recent days of 'toddler'.
We decided a while back it was time to 'man up' his room...so when we finally found and agreed on a (Pottery Barn) bedroom set for him, it was on!
A few weeks ago, Will, myself and my parents conveniently headed downtown to the Aquarium, leaving Billy at home with a list of instructions as to the remodeling of Will's room...
Well, I think he did a pretty good job :)
Backing up a few months - Will was inspired by a green pillow he found at Bed Bath and Beyond - which is why his room is now....green....
And of course, per his request, it is a 'dinosaur room', complete with a big boy (twin) bed!
We have some new things, like a dinosaur piggy bank which he is using to save money to buy more cars, a Will hand painted T-Rex and a puzzle we put together, glued to some plywood and hung on the wall. (What else do you do when you get two of the same puzzles for Christmas?)
We did keep some things from his previous room - the lazy boy (this was so useful when he was a baby...now it is used for jumping off of and hiding behind! Oh, and there is the green furry pillow Will just had to have from Bed Bath and Beyond.
Also kept from the old room is the book case (of course) because our little bookworm wouldn't have it any other way...
And Will's letters on the wall (which have now been re-modge podged three times) and his train letters (on the dresser)
All in all we are thrilled with his new big boy room, and so is he. He is so glad to be out of his toddler bed --- although, now that we have made this transition, we have had to end our Sunday night tradition of mattress slide (prior to putting clean sheets on of course)...luckily, Will finds hiding under his bed almost as enjoyable :) and I find it less dangerous!
