March means it is Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Time! We headed down to Reliant Stadium Saturday to enjoy all the fun activities they had for the kiddos...I mean, where else can you ride ponies, watch pig races, climb in tractors, plant tomato seeds and hang out in a petting zoo all at the same time?
Our first stop was the pony ride where our little jockey climbed aboard Cowboy for a few trots around the track...
Next was the 'barn scene' where Will got to see what a cow stall looked like...
Then we were off to meet Elsie the cow - Will was thrilled to learn where his milk comes from haha!
And then we headed into the petting zoo where Will played with goats...
Pulled pig tails...
Hugged wooly sheep...
Pet a 'prickly' pig...
Had fun with the llama....
And clucked like a chicken!
Then we were off to dig for worms...
And watch pig...yes, pig races.
Next we headed to the "on the farm" exhibit where we planted tomatoes...
Milked some cows...
And drove some tractors...
Clearly, he takes after his mommy...he looks like such a little farmer!
These tractors were HUGE!
On our way out, we ran into an Aggie bred longhorn, that I'm guessing will be making some big money (and steaks) for someone some day!
Finally we got so tired - we headed for home.
We can't wait til next year's rodeo, because we will be old enough for the rides!!!
