At Least SOMEONE is Having Fun!!!!

I didn't think it was possible
I thought for sure the world would stop turning
And everyone would be miserable being away from me
LOL!!!
They are having a ball while mommy is away!!
Here are a few photos of what my boys have been up to lately :)

It's Getting Spooky in Texas!

I can't wait to get home to see my little MONSTERS!!!!
17 days and counting!!!

John at NINE Months Old!

Little Johnny Blue Eyes is NINE months old!  (actually at the moment I am posting this LATE blog, he is nine months and nine days old)  He is as cute as a button and is quite the little rambunctious man from what my parents and Billy tell me...I predict he will be walking by the end of the month!

Now for the fun stuff...the stats...
Height: 28 1/4 " long ~ 50th percentile
Weight: 21 lbs 8.5 ozs ~ 66th percentile
Teeth: FOUR!
And still our chubby little babe!

He must still be eating tons of sweet potatoes based on his nose STILL being orange!

And he is standing like a super star!
(must be getting some help with that low center of gravity he sports so handsomely)

And finally for the nine month comparison...someone has a mini me!!!

Letters From Home...

So I have really been feeling blue lately...missing home...missing Billy...missing the kiddos...
And just when I felt I couldn't go on I got the best 'pick me up email' from my dad (yes, Nana Julie and Papa Dave are in Houston!).  Papa Dave has been picking Will up from school these days and for a little background info:

  1. The school has what is called a car pick-up line.  All the parents, in their cars, line up and wait for their kiddos to be brought to them from a waiting area inside.  The PreK students arrive safely to the parent's cars with the help of an older student, usually someone in elementary.
  2. We have been told Will has somewhat of a 'girlfriend' in the 1st grade, named none other than...Emily.
The other day, Papa Dave witnessed the following.  His note to me went a little something like this:

Today Emily did her usual at pickup.
She heard Will's name called, went to your car, told the other kid, "I got this one", pulled the original assigned helper by the arm out of the way with a smile, grabbed Will and brought him to the car.

Papa Dave:  "Hi Emily, boy you really take good care of Will, I'm his grandfather!"
Emily:  "You're very fortunate, he's so nice."

Now isn't that just the cutest?!

Bumming a ride from an acquaintance on a Friday night to Arlington, VA...
Staying the night with a friend...
Asking same friend to bring me to the airport at 4am Saturday morning...
Spending 2 1/2 hours on a plane...
$400 round trip ticket from DC to Houston...
Begging a friend to pick me up at the airport Sunday and bring me back to work...

John at EIGHT Months Old!

I cannot believe how fast time is flying...John is officially EIGHT months old already!  (Yes, this post is a day late, but hey, I'm a bit busy right now!).

What has he been up to?

He is extremely mobile, crawling EVERYWHERE...
He is not satisfied unless he is rummaging through Will's toys and in the middle of any and all action at the house...
He can get to standing without support and then "surfs" for 10-20 seconds before sitting down...
He is definitely teething and one has just about popped through already so stand by!
His personality continues to get more and more fabulous with each passing day...
--and I miss him--a lot--

Here's Johnny B. at EIGHT months old :)

And for the comparison (and in this instance, extremely relevant timing)...

Snippets

Just a simple post to share some of my favorite pictures from this past weekend...

Will eating cheese (no, I do not (necessarily) condone this behavior) :)

My little butterball...and the best dad in the world that is holding down the fort for the next 8 weeks (1 week down, yeah!)...

John's "explore the tupperware cabinet" right of passage...

And the two cutest bathers ever...

Science Experiment

A few weeks ago, Will and I were doing, yes, another science experiment.  We made our very own swamp.  It started out fine, he added some mud, leaves, grass, rocks, then got some of his swamp animals and placed them inside a nice little tupperware container.  Then of course, his imagination went wild and he dumped the entire swamp into one of his (eating) trays.  But he didn't stop there...he just had to put his 500 Super Friend action figures in it.  It was a little crazy, a lot of fun, and he even helped  clean up afterwards :)

Happy Birthday Billy!

We love you!!!
