Twas The Night Before Christmas....

Christmas Eve was FULL of activities (we must stagger all this stuff next year!).

First, gingerbread house making...which John took very seriously.

There aren't many things that keep this kid focused, but crafting with yummy food sure is one of them!

Once the house was built, we of course took a photo, then let the boys promptly destroy it.

While Will was worried about boundaries, John dug right in.

 Next up...Christmas Eve Mass...

And some photos of the boys with our crazy yard decorations...

Then...cookie making!  We all know how Santa loves cookies so we made some extra special sugar cookies just for him...

Look closely and you will see the boys snuck in a Triceratops and Tyrannosaurus Rex...

Next up...the Pajama Elves arrived!  Billy found this cool book about Santa's elves delivering pajamas on Christmas Eve to kiddos and we decided to give it a shot...the boys were THRILLED when (Aunt Stacy) the elves rang the doorbell and their personal pajama packages were delivered.

We got them into their pjs and set out the cookies and candy canes for the reindeer...

 Took a few final photos...

Will picked the snowman sugar cookie, John of course picked the Triceratops...

And then we headed upstairs for a festive reading of The Night Before Christmas (don't mind the bizarre extra cushions that somehow showed up in Will's room...)

And then the boys were off to bed and Billy and I got busy frantically wrapping and preparing for the morning!
