A Brown Family Christmas

Christmas Day was full of fun at our house...beginning with the stockings.
I've never seen two kids more excited to receive chocolate in my life.

And of course, we had to pause before beginning to open presents so John could sample some (not quite sure who he takes after....)

The boys then began to tear into their presents...

Billy wins parent of the year for his involvement with finding presents...here is John's Ironfist Lego Man that he wanted...also (and for some reason not captured on film) Billy hand made a Lego Hobbit Book (because one wasn't available!) to include printing the photos on sized paper and having it bound!

Each kiddo had specific wrapping paper for their gifts from Santa - because Will has started asking questions about Santa...so we are taking extreme measures to get at least another year out of this ruse...

Johnny got a lot of crafty stuff like play-doh and kinetic sand...

And of course every guy needs a tool set!

John is also king of sticker books - he can match up stickers like crazy and he LOVES doing it!

And of course our kiddos got loads of books...how old did it make me feel to purchase this classic? 40 year anniversary of its publication????

Will got loads of Legos to include his Ultra Agents Car...

And of course when you have millions of legos, you need a giant lego head to sort them all out...

Will got a great selection of books to include his Hardy Boys starter set...

And then, this mom, shamelessly bought them pump action snowball shooters (and no, they won't shoot their eyes out with these soft fluffy snowballs!)...

And we bravely bought them sumo boppers (Will obviously knows he's in for it - we anticipate John will be slightly MORE than aggressive once he gets this thing on)...

And this over the door hoop in Will's room keeps things exciting at bed time!

John was thrilled to get an Avengers story book collection (he is a HUGE super hero fan and even BIGGER Hulk fan)...

One of the best things you can witness as a mom of two boys is them both sitting silently for a moment, soaking in books, yes books, these kids LOVE books - and it makes me smile.

This is the face of a 6 year old when he gets his #1 present he asked for from Santa (a Minecraft head)...

And this is the face of an excited 2 year old who just got 8 more action figures to role play with!

Leave it to Great Aunt Sharon and Uncle Chuck to get the boys these two awesome race cars (THANK YOU!)

And Will's reaction to receiving a table top air hockey table is just a hint of hours of happiness to come (especially when Papa Dave visits)...

Then John got his #1 request from Santa....

A red pillow, so sweet and so adorable!

We then packed up and headed over to Nana Rosie and Papa Max's house for round two.

Following a nap - everyone came back to our house for dinner.

We decided to change things up this year - instead of a big feast, everyone got to pick and choose what they wanted for supper.  The boys asked for pizza and mashed potatoes, so pizza and mashed potatoes it was!

Dinner was followed by serious game playing by Will, Nana Rosie, and Stacy...

And Papa Max, Billy, John, and I watched our (at least) 11th running of Mr. Magoo's Christmas Story (John's favorite).

Merry Christmas 2014 from all of us!
Ours was merry and bright!
Hope yours was too!
