MULLET MAKEOVER!

Saturday was a H.U.G.E. day...we celebrated John's 2nd Birthday with a Mullet Makeover party!

We had all the details set...

The barbershop invites...

 The party flair...

Johnny's hat, personal flair, and the most adorable 'baby's first curl' bag I've ever seen!

 We had the birthday banner...

The favors...(yes I made them, yes they are Krylon painted toilet paper rolls wrapped with ribbon, yes they are super glued to glittered wood, and yes - those are lollipops and SOLID CHOCOLATE Special Agent Osos!

And of course, we had a super duper awesome cake...with a custom made Special Agent Oso topper holding two candles ;) BTW John LOVED this!

But the best addition to the party decor was this birthday sign created by Will - we taped four pieces of paper together and then he designed it himself!

Before the party we got a few family photos...
The Fam...

Our Birthday Boy...

Papa Dave and his two buddies...

The Browns...

And GREAT Aunt Sharon and Uncle Chuck :) sans John as he was not in the mood...

And of course - one last photo of the locks...

The guests started arriving and eating and kids were playing....

And then the stylist arrived...here is John [not so kindly] telling her "NO!" when she tried to put the "cape" around him...

Here he appears to be forming a defensive posture...

And then the cutting began!  He was not happy (obviously)...

About halfway through my shoulder couldn't take it anymore so I handed him off to Billy who continued to ride out the storm...

I packaged up the largest locks I could stuff in the bag...

And after about 10 minutes - he regained his composure and we moved on to the cake!
Yes, at some point Will and a few of his buddies changed into super hero costumes -- so it goes!

We sang happy birthday with some very exuberant 5-6 year olds and Johnny blew out his candles!

Everyone dug into their cake...and loved it!

I had to include this photo - it looks like Rosie and Sharon are at confession lol!

After cake we all gathered around to watch another one of my crazy video/photo montages I created for each of their 1st and 2nd birthdays...this one though...was nowhere near as painful as John's 1st birthday which consisted of well over 200 photos set to roll with 5, yes FIVE songs.  This year I kept it short and sweet  - 2 songs and only 101 photos lol!  I think everyone enjoyed it!  It got a lot of laughs, made all the kids giggle, and yes, I just about cried at the end...

After a nap and some time spent at the park, the after party ensued - complete with the arrival of gifts from our dear friends Nick and Cheryl - who never forget to get Will a little something too!  Here is Will with his new voice changing Darth Vader mask...I give you, Captain Vader [or] Darth America?

And John LOL - I mean how cute is this?

So here is the final cut!  We think it turned out great!  Hopefully his next one will be less traumatic!

Happy Birthday John!!!! MUAH!
