I like to do science experiments with Will on a regular basis...it is one of my favorite things in the world to do...
Sometimes the experiments work and sometimes they fail (darn you bottle that is supposed to burp after being frozen and covered with a wet quarter!) Sometimes the experiments are really simple but sometimes, I get in a little over my head.
This was one of those "over my head" times...we made paper machete planets!!!
I think Will had the most fun during the prep period (i.e. making the gooey gluey concoction to use for applying the newspaper to our balloons)
Things got a little messy during the newspaper application phase...
But for the most part Will kept everything pretty clean...
Once they were dry, it was time to paint (and yes, Johnny B was there to drool supervise)!
Everyone was really happy to get messy with paint!
We talked about solid planets and gaseous planets and planets with more than one moon and planets with rings and planets that aren't considered planets anymore (poor Pluto!) and the location of planets in our solar system and of course the color of planets.
In the end we ended up with some awesome planets of our own!
