There is More Than Sugar in Sugar Land!

Will's soccer game was canceled Saturday due to rain, so this weekend we bit the bullet...we finally decided to capitalize on our Houston Museum of Natural Science membership by going to visit their other branch...
all...
the...
way...
down...
in...
Sugar...
Land...

And from the minute we walked in the doors, we realized it was TOTALLY worth the trip!

Will instantly identified the Megaladon mouth...

And could barely contain his excitement when we passed by the T-Rex and Struthiomimus fossils (yes, he's actually running in place here he is so excited)

We then passed by a really cool mural of dinos...

And skulls (ok, kind of creepy)...

An icthyosaur's fossil...

And then to the hall of dinosaurs...

Slightly excited eh?

After the dinos we were off to the planet exhibit and man was it COOL!

And finally to the Discovery hall where we got the chance to check out all kinds of fun experiments like air tunnels...

Wave motion emulators...

Different sized gears...some large, some small, some hard to turn, some easy, some that spin the propeller fast and some slow...there was actual thinking involved at this one!

We learned with a fulcrum placed just right, Will could lift 50 pounds!

And we discovered how cool fiber optics could be!

There were whirlpools to be made...

Pendulums to swing...

And by the time it was all over we were exhausted...
But not too exhausted to have a fun filled park play date with Dylan after our nap!

Whew...that was a BUSY Saturday! (just like we like it!)
