Soccer....and Will-isms

We signed Will up for soccer a few weeks ago...tomorrow is his first practice and Saturday at EIGHT THIRTY AM is his first game!  We are very excited to watch a herd of three year olds run wildly about the field.  I expect nothing more from Will than to inappropriately use his hands, pick grass/dandelions and of course, have sideline mommy attachment issues.  But I am excited nonetheless!

Anyway, my incredibly cerebral son who never ceases to amaze me with his wicked memory, vocabulary/speech, imagination and so forth made me laugh out loud last weekend when we took him to the YMCA to 'practice' (what amounted to him kicking a ball for about 1 and a half minutes before becoming engrossed in the spider webs that were spun about the bleachers.

Picture this...Will, kicking his soccer ball (very hard, very coordinated and very far)....then yelling "HOME RUN!"  I just about fell over!
Contrast that with a conversation I had with him a few days later...
Me:  "Will, what is the fastest dinosaur?"
Will:  (without hesitation and with perfect pronunciation)  "Um, probably dromaeosaurus....or actually...ornithomimus!"

Not sure whether we have a jock, or a nerd on our hands here, but either way, I just LOVE him!!!!
